|Answer the Call|
In an effort to celebrate the contributions of volunteer firefighters, while inspiring others to join them, the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs signed an agreement with the Alberta Association of Fire Chiefs (AAFC) to expand their volunteer recruitment campaign "Answer the Call” across Canada.
Originally developed by the AAFC, the campaign provides information resources, marketing materials, and a distinct mark for recruiting, identifying and promoting the work of volunteer firefighters. By taking the campaign nation-wide, the two partner associations are working together to lend a hand in other provinces and territories seeking deeper community engagement in bolstering the ranks of volunteer fire fighters, who already make up 80 per cent of firefighters in Canada.
The National Website and Tools will launch at Fire-Rescue Canada 2016 and partner with corporations and interested community stakeholders to generate awareness of opportunities to become a volunteer firefighter and inspire recruitment by celebrating the contributions these dedicated individuals make to their communities.
CAFC is currently asking volunteer departments to complete and activate their own recruiting webpage to be posted on the Answer the Call national website. To upload and activate your department's recruiting page, please click here. (french - click here)
