13th World FireFighters Games

March 6, 2018

My name is John Martel and I am a Volunteer Firefighter with the town of Athabasca, Alberta. Since 2002 I have been involed in the World FireFighters Games as a competitor.  The games have brought me to places like New Zealand, Hong Kong, Liverpool and Australia.  This September they will be held in Chungju, South Korea.
The games are in each host city are run by Firefighters for Firefighters.  Due to budjet constraints they rely on word of mouth and social media to advertise for this Bi-Annual event.
I visited some Municipalities in and around Edmonton to get the word out and have had a warm reception thus far. I have been reaching out to our other provinces through regional authorities.
My hope is you will be able to spread the word about this event even further. The games are open to all Full Time, Volunteer and retired Firefighters and their spouces.
I have included a couple PDF files.  They are the leaflets and brochures I have handed out to the fire halls I have visited.
Did you know that Canada once hosted the games back in 1996 in Edmonton, Alberta? It would be nice to host them once again. I am hoping one of our Maratime Provinces will take that on.
Any help would be appreciated and I will say thanks in Advance.  Also I hope spring comes soon. It has been cold and I am done with Winter.  Feel free to contact me via e-mail ([email protected]) or call or text my cell at 1-780-531-6540.

Thanks again.
