Mrs. Ann Louise Longley 1946-2009

OBITUARY

Ann Louise Longley - 63, of Kentville, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2009 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of William Horton, DVA Unit, Soldier’s Memorial Hospital, Middleton, formerly of Kentville and the late Adell (Parkman) Horton. A very humble person, Ann’s philosophy was doing the right thing and encouraging others to do the same. She always put her family and grandchildren first and enjoyed spending time with her family at the cottage at Aylesford Lake. She graduated from Kings County Academy and Mack Business College and was then employed with the Municipality of Kings for over 44 years, where she presently held the position of Municipal Clerk. She was Executive Director of the Fire Services Association of Nova Scotia. Throughout her career, Ann received various awards. She is survived by her husband, Paul; a daughter, Sherri and a son, Scott (Ailie), both of Kentville; two brothers, Eric (Nancy), Fall River; Ken (Barbara), Mount Uniacke; two granddaughters, Brittany and Kourtnie; a grandson, Timothy; nieces and nephews. In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by a granddaughter, Emily Jean Longley. Cremation has taken place.

Visitation at White's Family Funeral Home in Kentville - Tuesday October
27th, 7-9pm

 

FUNERAL SERVICE

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2009 in St. James Anglican Church, Kentville, Archdeacon Lynn Uzans officiating.

 

Firefighters have been invited to meet prior to the service on Wednesday at
the Kentville Fire Station.

A private family burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County.

Following the burial, the family will join friends and relatives at a reception to be held in the Kentville Volunteer Fire Department.
