The ceremony will pay tribute to the over 970 Canadian firefighters who have lost their lives serving Canada since organized fire services began in the 1820s. The names of all firefighters added to the honour roll since the last ceremony will be read at the ceremony. In addition, special presentations will be made to the families of those firefighters who were actively employed at their time of death.

The public is welcome to attend the Memorial Ceremony and support Canada’s fallen firefighters. The parade will depart from the front of the Supreme Court of Canada on Wellington Street at 10:30 AM. There will be a reception in the Centre Block of the Parliament Buildings after the ceremony. In order to attend the reception in the Centre Block guests must wear a CFFF pin. They will be available at the CFFF store at the Sheraton Ottawa Hotel, 150 Albert Street, or on our website at.
