Whitby Fire and Emergency Services appoints Platoon Chief Jeff Bentley as Deputy Fire Chief for the Suppression, Training and Communications Divisions

Whitby Fire and Emergency Services (WFES) is pleased to announce that Platoon Chief Jeff Bentley will be assuming the duties and responsibilities of Deputy Fire Chief responsible for the Suppression, Training and Communications Divisions, effective Monday July 12, 2010.

Jeff is a life long resident of the Town of Whitby and has been a valued member of WFES for over 30 years and has worked his way up through the ranks. Jeff started his career as a volunteer in 1978. He became a full time fire fighter in 1980. He served as an Acting Captain starting in 1992 and continued in that position until he was promoted to Captain in 1998. In 2005 he assumed the position of Acting Platoon Chief until 2009 when he was promoted to Platoon Chief, A1 Platoon.

All of us at WFES are looking forward to working with Jeff as our Fire Department moves ahead into the future.
