City of Cornwall Hires New Deputy Fire Chief - Fire Services For Immediate Release Cornwall, Ontario - Mayor Phil Poirier is pleased to announce the selection of Mr. John Robert Hickey as the new Deputy Fire Chief - Fire Services.

Mr. John Robert Hickey has been employed with the Cornwall Fire Service for over 20 years and has qualified as a Lieutenant in 2001; Acting Captain in 2003 and as the Fire Service Training Officer in 2003.

He is a graduate of the Ontario Fire College Company Officer Program and brings over 6 years of managment related experiences from both the public and private sectors.

Mr. Hickey is a resident of The City of Cornwall and is married to Joanne with four children: Marissa, Sean and Lyndsay.

John Robert Hickey will assume the Deputy Fire Chief position as of Monday, October 31, 2005.
