The Opportunity: The
City of St. Albert Fire Department is accepting applications
for Emergency Services Personnel. St. Albert Fire Services is
a professional organization in which fire and emergency
medical services are fully integrated and which delivers a
wide range of emergency response, fire prevention and public
life safety education programs to the City and surrounding
area.
Qualifications: Applicants
seeking employment with the Fire Department in the Emergency
Services Branch must meet the following criteria: ·Grade 12
and EMT-A or EMT-P certification and be currently registered
with A.C.P. ·Capable of passing physical fitness tests and
aptitude evaluation· Possess a valid class 3 operators license
with air brake endorsement and class 4 certificate ·Have a
minimum of 20/30 corrected vision, no hearing impairment,
normal color vision ·Ability to work in a sophisticated,
integrated Fire/EMS service, a desire and willingness to
undergo fire service related training to department approved
standards (N.F.P.A. 10-01 or equivalent)and a willingness to
strive for improved performance through continuing education.
*** Preferred applicants will have: ·EMT-P certifications and
current registration with A.C.P., and either be certified to a
recognized fire service standard or be willing to be trained
to department approved fire service standards. Candidates must
be prepared to pay for: ·Drivers abstract (approx $15) ·Cost
of Aptitude Testing (approx $25) ·Full Medical by City
appointed Doctor (approx $50) ·Fitness Test at U of A (approx
$250). Dates have been pre-scheduled as follows: ·Aptitude
testing – March 19, 2007 ·Fitness testing – April 2 & 3,

p.m.
Salary Range: $52,577 per
annum (July 1, 2007 Probationary rate) In addition there is a
generous and comprehensive benefit package.
