There are five categories of membership as follows:

ACTIVE MEMBERS (Voting Members) –
Active membership may be held by persons holding a management position
in Emergency Services. This category is made up primarily of officers
and includes Fire Chiefs, Deputy Fire Chiefs, Assistant Chiefs,
Division Chiefs, District Chiefs, Battalion Chiefs, Platoon Chiefs,
Safety Officers, Chiefs of Fire Prevention, Fire Marshals and Fire
Commissioners.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERS – Associate Membership
may be held by persons who are eligible to serve as Active Members
but who are interested in supporting the objectives of the Association.
This category includes manufacturers and distributors of fire and
emergency services equipment and supplies and/or members of their
organizations plus other individuals or organizations interested
in and supportive of the objectives of the CAFC.

LIFE MEMBERS – Life Membership is
accorded to persons retiring who have served in the Office of President
of the Association. Life Membership may also be extended to an active
Member who has been in good standing for a period not less than
ten years, upon retirement from the positions that qualified them
to hold Active Membership and upon application to the Board through
the CAO.

HONORARY MEMBERS – Honorary Members
may be held by any person having served the Association with honor
and distinction, upon the recommendation of the Resolutions Committee
and adoption by a majority vote of members at the Annual Meeting.

RETIRED MEMBERS – Retired Membership
is accorded to active members who retired but do not qualify for
Life Membership.

NEW Affiliate Company Officer Membership now available! CAFC has opened its membership to Company Officers. These are the future leaders and they will gain immeasurably by being actively involved in CAFC as members. CAFC encourages current Active members to promote this new membership to its company officers. Affiliate Company Officer Membership will have all the rights and privileges of Active Members, except the right to vote and the right to be elected to any elected office.
